GUIDELINES

General Information

D.S.M. School, Jamshedpur was started in the year 2012.The DSM school is an English Medium co-educational institution preparing students for the ICSE Examinations. The school is managed by a Board of Trustees who run educational trust.

The School aims at and imparts a practical and purposeful education to students from all over the country. The best of education is given with utmost care, love and understanding with a view to instill into these young minds moral and ethical values, strength of character, discipline, patriotism and an abiding spirit of service and sacrifice.

D S M SCHOOL receives no government or private aid and fees realised from students is the only source of revenue. Therefore, to meet the rising costs and increase in salary, fees have to be revised from time to time. This website aims at establishing a valuable link between the teachers and the parents with regard to the quality of work attempted by teachers and students both .

Genral Guidelines to Parents / Guardians

The school firmly believes in discipline. Slackness, disobedience and disregard of rules will not be tolerated. Any action likely to lower the image of the school is regarded as violation of the school discipline. The school reserves the right to expel students whose conduct is not good. Immorality, insubordination or contempt of authority is sufficient reason for immediate expulsion from the school.

SCHOOL RULES

  1. Every student should carry his diary to school each day.
  2. A student must be in school well-in-time to be ready for the assembly held 10 minutes before the start of the first period. The warning bell before a class or the assembly is a signal for all to go to the assembly or to their respective classrooms. This should be done promptly and in silence. As soon as they are in their classes, students should get their books ready for the period.
  3. Changing of classrooms between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly manner.
  4. Students should come neatly dressed to school everyday. The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students who are not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their classrooms.
  5. No child is allowed to colour or dye hair. Strict action will be taken if found so.
  6. Care must be taken of the school property and no student should scratch or spoil the desks or chairs or damage any school furniture or write or draw anything on walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher or to the Principal.
  7. The cost of repair of the damaged property will have to be borne by the student concerned. Anyone who notices something damaged should report the matter even if he or she does not know who has done it.
  8. Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instruments to school.
  9. No books, (other than text books or library books) magazines or papers should be brought to the school without the Principal's permission.
  10. Lending or borrowing of money or other articles is not permitted.
  11. The school is not responsible for any articles lost.
  12. Cycles must be locked. Use of Moped/Scooters etc, is strictly prohibited.
  13. Students are not allowed to collect money for any purpose without the Principal's permission.
  14. Firing crackers or splashing colours during Diwali! Holi in the school premises is strictly forbidden. Non-compliance of these instructions can result in expulsion from the school.
  15. Parents, guardians and visitors should not visit their wards or teachers in the classroom.
  16. Any student who is found involved in a fight within the school premises, is liable to be given a transfer certificate with no pardon.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. Speaking in Hindi is not allowed within the School Premises.
  2. Students should avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.
  3. They should accept whatever work is assigned to them.
  4. They should never cheat or use unfair means.
  5. They should respect their teachers and wish them any time they meet them in the school or outside.
  6. They should not bunk classes at any time of the school hours.
  7. They should take pride in wearing their school uniform
  8. Every student must be present on the reopening day of the school.
  9. Students below 18 yrs. of age should not bring any other vehicle except bicycles to school

Discipline policy for student of Std VII and above

  1. For bunking of class –a pink slip will be issued.
  2. For reporting to class late (two times) a pink slip will be issued.
  3. Shouting in the corridor, running in the corridor kicking open a door where a teacher is teaching, unnecessary interference during class hours -1 st warning will be given. If repeated a pink slip will be issued.
  4. Any student who receives TWO pink slips will be banned from participating during sports day, farewell and picnic.
  5. Three pink slips will result in a suspension of seven days. Permanent suspension (home study) will be given to the student. Parent will have to be present in school during this decision. This decision will be final.
  6. In case of a fight between two or more students, an immediate suspension for 7 days will be given to the children. No clarification will be sought from the children who have fought.
  7. In case of use of abusive language the child will write the same on paper which will be handed over to the parent. In case a child does not write abuse, he will not be allowed to attend school. If the parent refuses to come, the student will be allowed to come to school only when the parent meets the Principal.
  8. No student shall, at any time, pass any derogatory remark against any teacher. In case of any problem the children can come and meet the Principal or Vice Principal. Strict confidentially will be maintained.
